Lifting Haulage using Lorry Loaders offers a huge variety of uses, eliminating the need for Forklifts/Telehandlers and Mobile Cranes for loading and unloading heavy items. Duddon Hire currently runs two Lorry Loader units both fitted with to 65T/m Cranes positoned behind the cab of the wagon. Brief specifications for our units are shown below. As of 2024, Duddon Hire provides Operated Telehandler Hire with the addition of the Merlo MF44.9 to our growing hire fleet. This is essentially a Telehandler/Tractor Hybrid, equipped with mechanical Power Take Off as standard that, in combination with the 3 point rear linkage and rear spool valves, allows mounted and trailed attachments to be connected.
The MF44.9 has a lift capacity of 4.4 tonnes lifted up to 8.8 meters and is available with a range of attachments.
For years now, Duddon Hire have hired out Storage containers for various sites around Cumbria and the North-West. We have storage containers available to hire in different sizes, please see below for more information.
Our Shipping Containers are built to last 40+ years with considerable use. For added security against vandals/intruders, these containers come with factory fitted lock boxes. Produced using Corten steel, these containers are corrosion resistant. All sizes available can be used for domestic storage and commercial storage.
Duddon Hire have Static and Mobile Welfare units for hire, capable of catering for between 6 and 8 people. All our units are highly secure, self-contained and purpose built for sites without water or electricity, the units include: a generator, canteen facilities, toilet, microwaves, fridges, integral water and waste tanks, also most of them have drying rooms built in.
Static Welfare Units – Delivered and collected to/from site using one of our lorry loader units, specifications of the units we have available are identified below.
Mobile Welfare Units – These units have a built-in draw bar, making them easy to move around on sites, once in the desired position the units can be lowered flat to the floor for stability.

Our Portable site offices provide a dry, comfortable space to store documents and paperwork as well as access computers for work activities and our Portable Mess units provide a dry comfortable space for workers to sit during their breaks. All of our units are secure with anti-vandal shutters and security locks on the doors. Our Site Offices and Mess rooms are available in arrange of sizes, our helpful Hire Desk team will be happy to find the right unit for you!
Chemical Toilets are a great solution when welfare facilities are required but no services or drainage is available. We can provide chemical toilets suitable for both sites and private events. The units we have available include: single units with hand sanitisers, single units with sinks (cold and hot water available), Units suitable for disabled users (with handrail) and also urinal units. We are now able to move abnormal loads of all shapes and sizes, as we have the facility to plan routes and notify the authorities in order to make sure every load we move gets to it's destination safely and in one piece.
Duddon Hire have been registered waste carriers for many years now. Mainly specialising in septic tank emptying and effluent tanks on welfare facilities. Within our fleet of tankers our largest carrying capacity is 2200 gallons. Please speak to our Hire Desk for more information.
We also hire out temporary security fencing and barriers for sites and events. We provide Anti-Climb security panels with clips and feet, as well as fixed leg pedestrian barriers. See below what we have available.
